Ehsan Mohagheghi Fard is a pianist, composer, and music theorist. He studied piano with Prof. Bob Versteegh at the Detmold University of Music, where he completed his bachelor’s degree. He went on to earn his master’s degree with distinction under Prof. Georg Friedrich Schenck at the Robert Schumann University of Music Düsseldorf. Alongside his piano studies, he pursued composition with Prof. Martin Christoph Redel and Prof. Fabien Lévy.
Further advancing his work in composition, he completed a postgraduate Meisterklasse program at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig. He also holds a master’s degree in music theory (Tonsatz) from the same institution, where he studied with Prof. Gesine Schröder.
His compositional output includes works for solo instruments, ensembles, and orchestras, often exploring the integration of electronics and live electronics. His music has been performed by ensembles such as the Nordharzer Städtebundtheater Orchestra, the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode, and the Detmold Chamber Orchestra.
As a pianist and artistic director, he performs with the „Roter Mond Ensemble“
Ehsan Mohagheghi Fard has taught music theory, ear training, and harmony at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, and the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden. He is currently a staff member for music theory and ear training and a lecturer at the Center for Music Theory at the University of Music „Franz Liszt“ Weimar.

Sein Bachelorstudium im Fach Klavier absolvierte Ehsan Mohagheghi Fard bei Prof. Bob Versteegh an der Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Den Master schloss er mit Auszeichnung bei Prof. Georg Friedrich Schenck an der Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf ab. Parallel dazu studierte er Komposition bei Prof. Martin Christoph Redel und Prof. Fabien Lévy. Ein anschließendes Meisterklassenstudium im Fach Komposition führte ihn an die Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig. Den Master im Fach Tonsatz absolvierte er ebenfalls an der HMT Leipzig bei Prof. Gesine Schröder.
Als Komponist schreibt er Werke für Soloinstrumente, Ensemble und Orchester, häufig unter Einbeziehung von Elektronik und Live-Elektronik. Seine Kompositionen wurden unter anderem vom Orchester des Nordharzer Städtebundtheaters, dem Philharmonischen Kammerorchester Wernigerode und dem Detmolder Kammerorchester aufgeführt.
Als musikalischer Leiter und Pianist konzertiert er mit dem „Roter Mond Ensemble“.
Er unterrichtete als Lehrbeauftragter für Tonsatz, Gehörbildung und Musiktheorie an der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig sowie an der Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. Derzeit ist er als künstlerischer Mitarbeiter für Musiktheorie und Gehörbildung an der Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar tätig.
