Biography

Ehsan Mohagheghi Fard was born in Tehran. After graduating from the Music Conservatory with a high school diploma, he attended the Music Academy in Tehran, where he studied piano. He continued his piano studies in Germany, where he completed his bachelor’s degree with Prof. Bob Versteegh at the Detmold University of Music and his master’s degree with Prof. Georg Friedrich Schenck at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf.

He completed his master’s degree in music theory and his Meisterklassen degree (postgraduate) in composition at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig. Mohagheghi Fard is a lecturer in music theory and orchestration at the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig and a lecturer in composition at the DJI (Detmold Institute for Young Students) at the University of Music in Detmold.

Mohagheghi Fard is a composer and pianist. His works have been played by orchestras such as the North Harz City Theater Orchestra, the Wernigerode Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and the Detmold Chamber Orchestra. In 2013 he was an artist at the Impuls Festival for New Music in Saxony-Anhalt. 2019-2021 he was a scholarship holder of the Free State of Saxony. He is the musical director of the “Roter-Mond-Ensemble”(Red Moon Ensemble).
