Ehsan Mohagheghi Fard was born in Teheran to a businessman and a painter. After attending school, he studied piano at the music conservatory and university in Tehran.
He continued his studies in the Germany at the University of Music Detmold, graduating with a Bachelor of Music with honours, under the tutelage of Prof. Bob Versteegh. Ehsan then completed his Master of Music with distinction under the supervision of Prof. Georg Friedrich Schenck at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf.
Alongside his piano studies, Ehsan completed a Bachelor of Composition at the University of Music Detmold with Prof. Martin Christoph Redel and Prof. Fabien Lévy. He is currently studying Meisterklassen studies at the Felix Mendelssohn University of Music and Dance in Leipzig with Prof. Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf.
Mohagheghi Fard currently lectures composition and holds composition seminars at the DJI (Detmold Young Students Institute) at the University of Music in Detmold.
He is also active as a composer and pianist. His works have been performed by renowned orchestras such as the Nordharzer Städtebündtheater, the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode and the Detmolder Kammerorchester. In 2013 he was an artist at the Impuls Festival for New Music in Saxony-Anhalt. He has received numerous awards, including the 2nd Prize and Audience Award at the Heine-Schumann-Musikvideo Competition in Düsseldorf, the Impulspreis of the 23rd Orchesterwerkstatt Halberstadt and the 3rd Prize of the Contemporary Piano Music Competition in Teheran.
